A supposedly anonymous video leaked on the net consisting of a couple of men having a girl kidnapped, kept in a cage, raped and killed on tape.
Of course I had to go ahead and review this film after finding it, ignoring that there's basicly no information to find about this film anywhere on the net. My guess (and everyone else's) is that this short film was leaked this way to get people to talk about it. The current title people know it as is "Captains Pride Volume 33 (Restored)" or something like that (I perfer to write it "Captains Pride, Volume 33". Not that it matters), and I guess for something like this that's not a terrible title. It indicates that if this is in fact a snuff video, there has been 32 others. A decent move. However, it doesn't seem very anonymous to have it leaked with a title at all, and if it indeed was real I doubt it would be titled something like that. Anyway, a good enough marketing move either way. Similar things have been done before and it always catches people's attention.
"Captains Pride, Volume 33" is basicly just a short snuff-esque film with two men (plus the person behind the camera) having a girl locked up in a cage. They kick the cage for a little bit and then takes her out to rape and kill her. First they cut off her ear and plays around in the wound a bit and whatnot. The guys are masked and the footage has been filtered to look really old, and to top it off the movie is silent, with only the noise of a projector to be heard. The footage does manage to look like old footage, even though there are hints of video in it, but what really brought me out of the whole "Oh my god, is this real?" (being the skeptic that I am, I guess I didn't have much to begin with) is the cuts they make everytime they cut or hurt her. At the exact moment of cutting her ear off, a cut was made. It may look like a problem with the film reel, but it's not very convincing.
By the end of the day, this film is likely to get sent around on the net, through torrents and whatnot for a while, and maybe if the people behind it come out in the future people/underground fans will kinda remember the video, but it's definitely not something you'll be going around talking about. There is no real "money shot" that will make you cringe or question if it's real or not, and unless this ends up being a real snuff film and I'm just a fool, it's not something that will be written down in the history of sick videos. You're better off with "Nekro" if you want a nasty treat.
