Title: Hammered In Holland

Also known as:

Year: 2006

Genre: Horror / Torture / Independant

Language: Dutch

Runtime: 3 min

Director: Mike Stoffels

Writer: Mike Stoffels

A guy goes in to a videostore and returns a DVD that he really did not like. The DVD happened to be the clerks favorite movie, and he doesn't take kindly to the bad mouthing of this flick.

Our thoughts:
This movie is presented as a tribute to Fred Vogel's August Underground, and you can see that throughout this 3 minute short film. The first hint is when the guy returns a DVD, which happens to be August Underground. The second hint is when the guy is tied in a room with pornographic pictures put up on the walls, just like in August Underground.

This is a pretty silly movie, the entire plot is that a guy gets kidnapped and killed for not liking a DVD, so there's not alot to complain about there really, because it's obviously not serious. As for being a tribute to August Underground, I would've hoped that it would have more torture than it does. There isn't much of it at all, which sadly makes the movie seem more pointless.

The little effects that are seen here are okay, nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. I really didn't like that the hammer hitting the head sounded like it was hitting wood or something like that though.

I might have sounded pretty harsh towards this short film, but it was pretty funny, and well worth those 3 minutes. While it's not as good as Amicus Mortis, made by the same team, it is still better than alot of shit out there. Watch it if you can find it.

This film can be found on the Amicus Mortis DVD. Mike Stoffels has also sent this to Toetag Pictures, for it to appear in the upcoming August Underground Trilogy Set.

Positive things:
- The silly plot.
- Tribute to August Underground can't be bad.
Negative things:
- The hammer sound.
- Not alot of torture.

Gore: 1/5
Nudity: 0/5
Story: 0.5/5
