A quick and to-the-point story about a couple going out camping and stumbling upon something very strange.

Our thoughts:
I have to admit that with the promotion picture that was sent along with "Hike", I expected a slightly more artsy horror film, but instead it's actually quite normal. Not saying it as a bad thing, just stating what it is. The film doesn't have as much of a story as it has an event. It has our two characters going camping in the woods, and when the female goes into the woods to tinkle she finds a human tongue. And then she meets the thing or person (spoiler free review!) that did this.

And then it ends. And that's a shame cause it could've been a pretty fun film had it only actually been feature length. What we get here would be perfect to have before the opening credits of the movie (minus showing the antagonist). It's well made enough for that to have worked, and since we quickly get interested in the story there was no need for it to end there. I can only hope Jennifer Campbell listens to this and either starts working on a long version, or at least makes her next film longer. And this is coming from someone who loves short films!

This is most likely my shortest review to date but there's not much more I can say about it. It's a pretty good short story that is only hurt by the short runtime. Watch it if you get the chance, but more importantly you should check out what Jennifer makes in the future because this one just sports her potential!

Positive things:
- A good, to-the-point horror.
- Overall a nicely produced film.

Negative things:
- It should've been longer!

Gore: 1/5
Nudity: 0/5
Story: 2/5
Effects: 3/5
