Lionel is a custodian who's sick of getting shit from everyone. He's a nice guy who kills a little now and then. But it's not until the girl he likes quits work, and his custodian friend becomes his enemy, that he really gets mad.
This movie is a lesson on how to make a fun no-budget splatter. It never takes itself serious, it has funny dialogue, great characters, and the splatter is just stupid (which obviously is a good thing here). Lionel reminds me alot of Marion from the Australian zombie/alien movie Undead, and they were both two fantastic characters that could help any movie from being a real pooper. It's hard not to compare this film to Troma movies, especially since Lloyd Kaufman has a cameo here. Personally, I would say that if this was released by Troma, it would be far from their worst.
The plot is nothing to write home to mama about. A janitor who lives at work goes around killing people, and no one suspects him. He loves a girl, she quits, he gets sad, blah blah. It works, since a killer janitor is perfect for a splatter film. We never really care about story, or the love Lionel feels for the girl, and most characters are just..there. If there was anything in the story that I cared about, it would have to be the things that's going on between Lionel and his co-worker Mr. Growbo. This film survives on Lionel and awesome dialogue alone.
The gore and splatter was nothing special. Sometimes it looked pretty good, sometimes just awful. Most gore is arms and legs being ripped off, and it's not the best it could be. One example is when Lloyd gets his arm ripped off, and the dismembered arm is way too long to be from Lloyd (looking at how much arm he has left). It's definitely a splatter movie, not gore.
"You can't turn in a fellow janitor" and "janitors need eachother" is two of the brilliant comments we have in this film, and there is plenty more. Like I said, the movie survives on Lionel and awesome dialogue. Most acting is bad in a hilarious way, and most turns the film takes are just as hilarious. The movie might also have the funniest, most kickass ending ever put on film.
I think they did the best they could with their limitations, and it ended up being a a very funny movie, and while it's bloody, the blood is never what keeps us watching till the end.
Warning: Really big fans of Troma might cum in their pants when watching this movie.
