When a surfer disappears in the town of Port Harbor, they suspect a giant shark. The town's Mayor does nothing, so James and Vic take matters into their own hands. Will they be able to kill the shark before the big wind surf competition?

Our thoughts:
I have accepted the fact that there will never be another shark movie as good as "Jaws", but this film is as good as it gets unless it's actually "Jaws". There are alot of things alike in the two films. The experienced fisherman in this film even resembles Quint from "Jaws". That might be one of the reasons why Spielberg got it banned from USA for life.

That said, there are still a few unique things going on, like the scene where the Shark eats the helicopter. The said scene is also my favorite in the entire movie (maybe except for that one where the girl is running down the beach), and probably the most suspenseful one. To be honest, most scenes aren't executed well enough to be either suspenseful or cool, and this is coming from someone who's only nightmares are about sharks. I even enjoy watching "Deep Blue Sea" because of that fact. "The Last Shark" is still a very good "Jaws" rip-off, and a pretty enjoyable film.

There are many flaws in the film, so I will try to take care of those that bothered me the most. First of all - ridiculously ugly fake shark. There are alot of scenes where they use real sharks, but you can tell when because they are always alooot smaller than this one is suppose to be. The real sharks are cool to watch when they use them in the eating scenes. Scary fucking teeth. Another flaw is the lack of gore and nudity. Little gore and not a single nipple.

Effects? Well, atleast the minimum gore that is in the movie looks pretty sweet. Basicly what we have is bitten off legs. The shark effects are horrible, and it takes away so much from the movie every time that damn thing pops up out of the water. However, there is one scene where the shark has a closed mouth, and it actually looks good for what it was.

This is a good rip-off with horrible shark. I prefer this one to "Jaws 4", which actually has an even uglier shark. Watch it if you like animal flicks, italian flicks, or if you are sick of worthless "Jaws" rip-offs.

Positive things:
- Best "Jaws" rip-off I've seen.
- The little gore we have looks good.
- Helicopter scene is fun.
- Alright acting.
- The meat-eating scenes with real sharks.
- "One thing's for sure, it wasn't a floating chainsaw."
- Almost as cool front cover as "Jaws".
Negative things:
- Ridiculous god damn shark!
- The real sharks used are a 100 times smaller.
- The way the water changes color all the time.
- How did the shark take a bite from the surfing board without the surfer falling off or even noticing?
- Bad ending. Wait till you see the shark die. Blah.
- Worst cheerleader song ever!

Gore: 1/5
Nudity: 0/5
Story: 3/5
Effects: 1.5/5
Comedy: 0.5/5
