On a Swedish working farm, the workers spend their time by fucking each other. Most of them, at least. Not Georg. But he is taken around by the owner Richard, who shows him how to have sex with women, and how to get them there.
This is Torgny Wickman's (the director of movies such as "Skräcken Har 1000 Ögon", "Anita" and "Ur kärlekens språk") last film. It's pretty much a porno through and through, but it wouldn't be a 70's Swedish porno if it didn't add silly plots, ridiculous dialogue, comedy and a farm, would it?
"Ta mej i dalen" is about people working on a farm, and they fuck. But it's the characters that makes it entertaining. We have the land owner Richard, who goes around fucking everyone to show Georg how to do it. Meanwhile we have Ester, a quiet teacher, who finally shows her true colors when Georg feels it's time to become a man. But the most interesting character, to me, is the housekeeper Jacqueline. She's so annoyed by the behavior of the people on the farm that she decides to plant a bomb to blow it all up.
Oh how I wish the plot with Jacqueline would've been worked on more. We basicly have the set up of her making and planting the bombs, but it's never a plot that gathers much attention from the audience. At least not as much as it could have. I would've loved like a kidnapping scene where she plants the bomb on one of the girls, or something. But instead we just see her plant it, and then after that someone touches her between her legs and she wants more. Boom! Cured from her non-sexual-existence into another full-blown slut! It's a shame, but it's also a charm, isn't it?
The sex scenes are, honestly, bad. Most of them are, at least. There's shadows covering most of the graphic parts in the first scene, in another scene a cat randomly jumps up into the bed and walks around curiously before jumping down again, and then we have a pathetic three-some where one of the girls is just there to get her boobies squeezed a bit. But it all adds to the charming effect, I think.
The English is unusually good for a Swedish movie, but that's because American actors were used (in most cases). The focus is all on the sex, which is good. Most of the women are pretty hot, and the movie is pretty funny. Does it make it a good movie? Not really. I mean, you kinda need to know what to expect to even watch a movie like this. If I compare it to "Fäbodjäntan" ("Come and Blow the Horn") by Joseph W. Sarno then I think you know what sort of film to expect, 'cause this is honestly the closest I think I've come to "Fäbodjäntan" in any other movie. But it's important to note that "Ta mej i dalen" came out before that one!
This DVD from Klubb Super 8 also comes with an unfinished film by Torgny Wickman called "Drömdoktorn". The camera crashed during production so it was never finished. But the good people at Klubb Super 8 found all the footage, which was about 70% of the finished film, and cut it together themselves with help from the script (which they also found). The footage was without sound, however the soundtrack for it was found. So they give us a rare opportunity to see this 60 minute lost piece of Swedish porn history! It seemed like a pretty interesting movies, with masked rapes in woods and all, but to be honest: it's just another porno. I think it's more exciting like this - unfinished and raw - than it would be as a finished movie. It's rare to see the clapperboard in finished movies, right? This is one of the things that I think makes Klubb Super 8 such a good company. They really put their soul into their releases, even when they release a "simple" 70's porno.
